The beautiful lower Sunshine Coast is an idyllic location for a locum tenens. The Sunshine Coast is made up of seaside towns and is a rural area located a short 45 minute ferry ride from West Vancouver. There is easy access to extensive outdoor activities ranging from hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and cross country skiing. Sechelt Hospital is a modern facility with an updated ambulatory care unit and a four bed critical care unit. The residing internists provide inpatient and outpatient consultations and exercise stress testing and also hold teaching appointments through UBC. Call is presently Level 1 with each internist on call 1:3.

If you are an internal medicine specialist who is licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, locums in Sechelt are available through the Rural Specialist Locum Program (RSLP), which guarantees a minimum daily stipend.
